Struggle: Finding the RIGHT pair of jeans

What’s up guys, we are back with a VERY relatable post; at least in my opinion. I don’t know about you, but I always have the hardest time finding a pair of jeans that fits in all places. Usually, my jeans fit in waist but then are way too baggy in the legs (since my body is super disproportionate). Or in other cases, they will fit perfectly in the legs but be the slightest bit too tight around the waist. It is a major struggle of mine to find the pair that not only fits well, but in all places.
SO.
I did some research. I looked at different stores, different styles of jeans, different materials, and noticed some very important details that could make a world of a difference.
1. Know which waistband fits your body type. For me, my hips are wider than the rest of my body, so I prefer high waisted jeans. I think that it is the most flattering on me because I have many curves and the high waisted accentuates them without making them look overbearing. If I was to wear low rise jeans, I would draw attention to my hips and places where I could have “muffin top”.
If you are someone without multiple curves, lower rise jeans will be your best friend. Low rise will help accentuate your body shape and add curves around your waist, hips or even your thighs.
2. This doesn’t have to do too much with body type, but, one key piece of information that everyone should know is: dark wash makes things looks smaller, light wash makes things look bigger. Again, if you want to add curves to your body, light wash could help do the trick.
3. Look at the length between the end of the zipper on the pants to the seam near your pelvic area. If there is a lot of material, it could likely cause a camel toe. More material adds the chance that it will accentuate every time you move and could result in a camel toe. Also, it can emphasize your lower stomach and make it look like it is sticking out more than it actually is.
When looking for a new pair of jeans, I recommend taking a look at the length between the zipper and the seam to see how much excess material there is. If there is not that much, that can be more flattering. Of course, it also depends on the rise of the jeans, high rise and excess material is even more likely to cause a camel toe, but if there is a lot of open space between the end of the zipper and seam, and you tend to be a taller person, it can be more likely to not only accentuate the possibility of a camel toe, but your lower stomach as well.
Now, I’m not saying that this is always the case, but from experience, I have noticed this.
4.Next tip: look at the pockets. See a) how small they are and b) how close to the crease of the pants where you bottom would sit. If the pockets are higher up than the crease, this will create the effect that you butt is more rounded. Also, when the pockets are closer to the outside of the pants, your bottom can appear wider than it actually is. So when I look at the back of jeans, I like to make sure the pockets are closer to the middle seam.
I hope you guys find this helpful! This honestly made the world of a difference for me while shopping for jeans. Just make sure you know your body type!!
Also, my favorite brand of jeans is TopShop. I know these can be a little pricey, but these just work the best for my body! I also really like Levi’s. These are old fashioned and have all the qualities that I look for such as pocket height and width and not much excess material at the end of the zipper! Only issue with Levi's, though, is that I find they run 1-2 sizes small. What’s your favorite brand or store to buy jeans? Comment below! Hope you all enjoyed this post, see you all next time.
