Hello everyone!
I hope you are all having a fantastic Wednesday. Im here to walk you through a few of my productive days this week (so far) to try and motivate you all to do the same!
Lets start with Sunday: I went to a yummy place for brunch in downtown Cleveland called Townhall. Along with me were two of my high school friends! What did I eat you ask? An eggwhich. Now let me tell you guys, this was probably the highlight of my entire week so far. It was, to say the least, AMAZING. It included: 1-2 scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese, your choice of protein (I got the all natural *can’t remember the rest of the name* sausage), and a mystery sauce that I can honestly say I had no idea what it was but it was so tasty. The sandwich came with a side of baked rosemary potato wedges. I was a happy person after this meal. After this, we went to the West Side Market which has multiple different stands of literally anything you can think of. To give y’all an idea, it ranges from homemade pizza bagels, to multiple dessert stands consisting of canolies, fresh cookies, and other baked goods all the way to fresh fruit and vegetables or different kinda meat (which seems low-key gross not going to lie, but to someone who likes it they’re probably in their happy place). We then explored the area we were in a found come cool places to take pictures with different scenery and character. The rest of my day was a little boring, went to the gym and had a great workout, and to be honest, can’t remember what else I did because Sunday was forever ago when you don’t have much going on day to day.
Next, Monday: I woke up early and ready to start my day! I went to the gym for an hour and a half and had an INTENSE workout. My body is still feeling the repercussions of this one today. I met my mom for lunch at chipotle after. (*note*: I just figured out that depending on your chipotle order, the meal can be less than 500 calories which is not terrible according to the prior thought that I, and assuming many other people, have had). After lunch, I met my friend and we laid outside in the sun for about an hour. The sun isn’t super-duper strong here, but hey, I’ll take any vitamin D I can get! Went home, took a shower and had a family dinner and then went out to a hip (sorta new?) restaurant called Barrio and watched the Cavs game!! Yes, LeBron brought home a win. I know thats what y’all really wanted to know right? Same. This day was such a good day.
Fast forward to today, Wednesday: I woke up pretty early and sat outside in the sun for about a half hour drinking my morning glass (or 2) of water. Was too lazy to chop up a lemon or cucumber to add to it, though. I met my friend for lunch a little later and we went to a place I’ve actually never been before. It was super cute and small, kinda had the same feeling as a cafe. They have all different kinds of salads and sandwiches which all looked amazing. What did I get? Egg salad wrapped inside whole wheat pita bread filled with sprouts, green/red peppers, and tomatoes. I’m gonna be honest, it wasn’t amazing but it was definitely enough to incline me to go back some time. Went back to my friends house and we made a cute little “bed” out of towels on her back deck and we tanned. Yes, I used sunscreen @mom. We were there for an hour I would say but there were no clouds so an hour was plenty for us. Kind of off topic, but we found this flavor droplet substance, I think it started with, or was named, “M”? It is either for electrolytes or energy. I tried the energy flavor and it was supposed to taste like a java vanilla latte. You can either mix it in milk or water. I (hesitantly) tried it in a glass of ice water and to my surprise was shocked by how real it tasted. You would think that mixing it in water would be weird and have an awkward consistency, but it didn’t which was really cool. Now I am home. I picked my little brother up from school and made us smoothies. Look at me doing adult things. College really has taught me well I see. The smoothie is actually really good I’m impressed with my smoothie-making skills.
Heres the recipe (serves 2 people, but can obviously be altered to serve more or less!):
-2 frozen medium sized bananas
-1 cup fresh blueberries
-1 personal sized greek yogurt (can be substituted for milk or ice cream if you’re being fancy)
-1 tbs. unsweetened, natural peanut powder to add protein and flavor (optional, of course)
-1 handful of ice cubes for consistency
-1/4 cup of almond milk (if needed to thin smoothie out)
It is so yummy! I love making smoothies from home because for starters, there's so much less sugar in them compared to getting them from a chain store, and they are also super filling!
Thats all for this post! I really hope this inspired you to motivate yourselves to be the best version possible! Staying motivated can be super challenging, but grabbing a friend to tag along with you it makes it that much easier! Remember, do what makes YOU happy and feel good. Just because these certain activities make me feel productive and motivated, doesn’t mean they work for everyone, they are simply just some ideas! I encourage you all to comment and share what you do to stay healthy, and motivated so I can try to incorporate them into my routine as well!
Thanks for reading, I’ll see you guys soon.
Xo,
D
